Frequently asked questions.

You can create templates in Microsoft Word or as Google Doc. For the documents to be created, you decide whether they should be of the Microsoft Word, Google Docs or PDF type.

No. All you need is a browser. The extension works under all common browsers, which are a prerequisite for using SAP SuccessFactors anyway. Also, you don’t need any additional middleware or 3rd party platform.

No. The extension does not require the SAP Business Technogoly Platform. Among other things, this simplifies the deployment and configuration of the extension. After a short time, the extension is available in your SAP SuccessFactors instances and can be administered using standard Role-Based Permissions.
There is no limit to the number of templates you can use for document generation. The purchase of a license allows unlimited use without a limit on the number or type of documents.

Document generation can be triggered from different places in SAP SuccessFactors. Among others, the Action menu in the People Profile serves as a common starting point. The generation of serial letters is usually started directly from the homepage. However, there are many other ways to integrate the extension into SAP SuccessFactors. Contact us if you want to learn more about this or find more information in our documentation.

No. You can configure per template whether the created documents should be downloaded directly to your computer or saved to your cloud storage. Supported cloud storages are: Microsoft Sharepoint, Microsoft OneDrive and Google Drive.

Yes. In SAP SuccessFactors, these documents are called Pixel Perfect Talent Cards (PPTC). With the extension, you can create your own PPTCs and generate them from the employee’s People Profile, for example. If you want to create multiple Talent Cards at once, you can use the tile on the homepage.

The number of placeholders varies depending on the customer instance. The extension is generic, therefore, also allows custom placeholders to display information from custom fields. You can easily find out which placeholders can be used in your templates: simply check out documentation that is handed over to you during implementation or find this information out directly in the instance using the Document Generation Admin tile on your homepage.

Yes, besides placeholder replacement you can add conditions to the template. This is a valuable functionality to make your template intelligent. This allows, among other things, conditional formatting, personal salutations or dependent text modules.

You do not need any technical background knowledge. A basic knowledge of Microsoft Word or Google Docs is sufficient to create your own template. Within Microsoft Word or Google Docs you can use the usual formatting options.
